If it improves video decoding for the frames extracted, it would be nice to enable/have an option for hardware acceleration as ffmpeg has such functions.
But need to see if it is for decoding (I saw something about the fact that it's only for encoding), what formats it works with, etc.

For macOS, it's VideoToolBox. https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/HWAccelIntro

Also, I'm not sure which version of ffmpeg you're using, but just in case, ffmpeg v5 is out now. I think I saw somewhere the Windows version is using ffmpeg v4.
