Code Block behavior

Selecting some text and then making them a code block inserts a new empty code-block on the next line, instead of wrapping the text.
I want to achieve the latter.

Block quote

Selecting some paragraphs and then making them a block-quote creates independent block-quote elements.
I want to make it wrap all the paragraph tags that were selected.

Can somebody please guide me in the right direction?

These are both behaviors I never got around to implementing when working on making them more stable. Happy to collaborate on a PR to get this behavior working.

I would love to contribute, but I am a bit confused with where to start. I think playing with this would help for code block. And for block-quote I don't have any idea.
What would you suggest @dylans ?
