SoftBreakPlugin - new node element?

Thank you for a wonderful list of plugins!

I had a brief observation on the SoftBreakPlugin. When using it, I've been given something like:

One pitfall of this is serializing content would require looking directly into the string of text and looking for a return. Is there a reason a new node isn't just created as a child?

For my specific use case, I'm seralizing to markdown, and this specific item ends up resolving as:
tededst FOR ME

The result would be the same as text children are concatenated.
