Use indent list plugin or list plugin

Initially we used both indent list plugin and list plugin in the system and run into following issues:

1. outdent and indent button don't work with list created by list plugin. unlike MS word, user cannot use outdent and indent button to create nested list.
2. list plugin does not work well with list data serialized from MS word
3. indent list plugin does not work well with list data serialized from HTML
4. Both list plugins offer tool bar buttons. It looks confusing if we show buttons at the same time.

So far, we lean towards to using list plugin if we can figure out to make outdent and indent button work as well as deserialization of MS word content from copy and paste.

We'd greatly appreciate any suggestions from the community. THANK YOU in advance!

You need to choose one between both. For better MS support, use the indent-list plugin.

The indent list plugin is an alternative to the list plugin. Both have different tradeoffs so you'll need to choose one over the other. The indent plugin can be used with both plugins.

May I know how to use the indent plugin along with the list plugin? I have tried to add ELEMENT_UL, ELEMENT_OL and ELEMENT_LI to the validTypes of indent plugin, however, it doesn't seem work as expected.

The indent plugin can't be applied to list elements, only to the other ones. The list plugin uses a nesting structure to indent its children, which is limited compared to the indent list. If you need that flexibility, the indent list should be used.
