Quote blocks not properly highlighted in list item continuations

The raw text that produced the above goes below. I always use the standard recommendation given in man pandoc_markdown of indenting blocks with 2 characters (so that the actual text is indented 4 characters).

Indenting to 4 character is a bad idea generally, because that will always
have conflicts with codeblocks. vim-pandoc-syntax doesn't distinguish (yet)
between toplevel sections and terminals, so it fails with embedded
structures like this.

That said, I'm working on it.

I understand. My impression is that all the regex magic that goes into creating syntax plugins makes some apparently easy things difficult. What I'm suggesting below can be one of those things.

Though the actual text in the quote block is indented 4 spaces, the > is only indented 2. That is only true, of course, if you discount the indentation of the containing element, namely, the list item. Can't that idea be implemented?

Yes, but only if you don't mind having to distinguish between

this is a paragrah

    > this is a codeblock

this is another paragraph

and

  * this is the start f a list

    > this is a blockquote

    this is a list continuation.

The issue is the indentation needs to be aware of where in the document tree it is, and that is the difficult part. We could make list items into regions, but that has also been dificult to implement (also because of context-dependency issues).

Thanks for that, it really helps. I don't use a really big set of pandoc's markdown features daily, so often it happens that things slip through.
