DDC not detected by BetterDisplay, but found with Monitor Control or Lunar

I have an Apple Cinema Display connected to a MacMini M4Pro, via a Caldigit Thunderbolt 4 Pro dock with Apple DisplayPort to DVI-D adapter. Monitor Control and Lunar both are able to control display brightness via DDC, but BetterDisplay(pro) claims DDC is not available with the interface cited. I can clearly measure DDC is functional for the other apps.

Either I'm missing a configuration option for Better Display Pro or I believe there is a problem / limitation in Better Display Pro. Thoughts?

BD disables DDC for these displays by default to prevent the dimming problem. You need to explicitly configure as a third party (non-Apple) display under Advanced control settings to allow DDC.

Thank you I found that option and have configured BD to fully control DDC for the Apple Cinema Display.

That said likely another configuration option I'm missing, when waking from sleep the display more often than not or maybe all the time comes up black and I'm unable to raise the brightness short of a sleep cycle or power cycling the display. It seems that the Mac has to be in sleep more than a very short period of time to fully go into sleep, thus cause this behavior.

I tried the option to reinitialize on wake but that doesn't seem to help.
