Which version of UGS are you running? |

Just getting started with UGS after some years off. Turns out the latest
posting is the same problem I'm having.
I see timbustad was asked to start a new thread, I can do so as well, but I
first wanted to add something that might be helpful.
I get the same "Fetching device status" 3-count sequence and it fails to
connect. I then go to a low-level terminal program (I'm on Linux, I used
"screen") and connect successfully. I disconnect, then UGS connects without
issue. (I'm running GRBL on an Arduino which hasn't changed in forever but
I am on a new computer now.)

… I was facing same problem with UGS v2.1.7. I was using the CNC3018 (GRBL
v0.9) with Offline controller connected. For some reason the controller was
causing this issue. When i disconected the controller it worked.

When I try to connect UGS to my Genmitsu 4040 pro, I get this jserial comm error message "error opening connection. could not connect to controller on port"
I'm running UGS on Mac OS Ventura 13.2
I'm not sure what's causing it — I've been checking and refreshing ports, quitting and reloading the app, jumping through all of the hoops, etc. Every now and then (about 5% of the time), the machine will connect just fine and I'm able run cuts without any problems.
This is my first time running my own machine, so would really appreciate any help. thanks
