hmm that's hard to say.. I accept my lack of experience, and insight into the library for a reason to say that it's a tough one.

How many people want this project alive and kicking?

I'm not very familiar with the code but I love this project.
What can I do?

I would say leave it alone until there's a problem that needs to be addressed. It works. Sometimes a project is just fine the way it is.
