start up zed without empty terminals being restored?

when i open up zed, via zed ~/some/project it opens up a number of empty terminals (however many were open last time it was open).

is it possible for zed to open without any terminals?

i'd like to open up zed with as clean of a slate as possible when zed launches, but preserve the behaviour where it switches to an open instance if it's running.
