Feature Idea for open source project

Hi all!

First, I apologize if this is the wrong place for the following discussion.
Second, I would like to thank you for this great open-source project.

I am a PhD student at UCLouvain (Belgium) in computer networking. Every year, we organize the "Open Week" for IT students. During the first week of the summer holidays, volunteer students contribute to open-source projects under our supervision.

We are actually collecting project ideas for 2025's Open Week, and I wanted to know if you have some ideas of features you would like to integrate with Zed.
The reasons I am asking you about this:

1. The Open Week should be held during the first week of July, so any "open feature idea" from open issues might already be solved by then. However, we must write down the idea before advertising it to the students.
2. We welcome all volunteer students, so their skills might differ greatly. The Open Week only lasts a week, which might be short enough to dig into the code, add the feature, and test it. Each team is about 4-5 students (1 team = 1 project).
3. As I said, these are volunteer students, and the event occurs after their exams, so the motivation might not always be at its peak.

TL;DR: Do you have some ideas for small features that you wish to integrate into Zed but that might not be "that important" so that it would not be dramatic if we "fail" to implement them during our Open Week?

A small disclaimer: working on Zed does not mean that Zed has to sponsor any event. Of course, we need sponsors to make it work, but that is not what I am asking. Just a good feature idea is neat.
