Hello developers! Welcome to the June edition of the ZKsync Developer Update. This monthly post keeps you informed with the latest protocol updates, new and improved development tools, recent integrations, and a variety of tutorials.

Here are the updates for the last month:

📚 New docs are live!

We've completely overhauled the ZKsync documentation, featuring a fresh redesign, new onboarding tutorials, and easier ways to contribute. Here are the main highlights:

• A new quickstart guide for beginners using browser-based IDEs like Remix or Atlas.
• The ZKsync 101 section provides comprehensive information for developers on building production applications on ZKsync, covering everything from using zksync-cli to creating upgradable contracts and local testing with Hardhat or Foundry.
• The Community Code is a new section that includes various tutorials and guides showcasing different use cases and ecosystem development tools. It's an ideal place for contributors to submit new tutorials and guides. If you're interested in contributing to ZKsync, be sure to check it out!

🧰 Developer tools

• Thirdweb SDK native AA support: the Thirdweb SDK has been updated to support ZKsync’s native account abstraction. This killer feature that allows application developers to enable gasless transactions while allowing users to keep their EOA accounts. Check out the cool demo they created here.
• Atlas update: The Atlas team has completely revamped their browser based IDE with a fresh new design and support for Foundry tests and scripts. Check it out here.
• Compiler update: zksolc version 1.5 is now available with security updates, optimizations, and bug fixes. Additionally, the isSystem configuration param has been renamed to enableEraVMExtensions .
• Faucet by GetBlock: more options for devs to get testnet funds thanks to the new faucet provided by GetBlock.
• Viem: further updates in viem/zksync to support deposits and withdrawals on the recently released BridgeHub. More info in the viem zkSync docs.
• Remix plugin update: Version 0.4 of the plugin was released by the Nethermind team with multiple UI improvements, and support for Hardhat projects.

🦄 ZKsync is live on Uniswap

Although the Uniswap v3 smart contracts were deployed many months ago, ZKsync was not listed in the official interface yet. Thanks to the support from the community, the Uniswap Foundation chose ZKsync as the next protocol to be integrated into the Uniswap frontend, so users can start using the most widely-used DEX through its most popular UI.

The Cyfrin updraft courses by Patrick Collins have been updated for 2024 with the latest developer tool features, best practices, and featuring ZKsync! The list of courses include:

👩‍💻 Akindo WaveHack

We continue receiving more project submission in the Akindo WaveHack online hackathon with up to $50.000 in prizes. Submissions remain open as the hackathon will run through the end of August, with prizes being awarded in waves every two weeks.

Join by building on ZKsync on the following bounties:

• Write Builder Tutorials or Technical Content.
• Build an application using Native Account Abstraction.
• Build a Game or SocialFi application.
