Appreciate your changes here to keep code-connect working. It looks like the original repo is not being maintained, so I thought I'd open a PR here.
This ports your improvements over to work with Fish, and allows it to be installed with Fisher.
The URL to the repo for installation with fisher is hardcoded, so that will need to be changed before a merge.
