DoorPI connects a Raspberry Pi with an door entry system.

The DoorPI HAT recognizes an incoming RING by hooking up to the terminal of the door entry system, translating this to a signal on the Raspberry Pi (RPi) and on a little web application or by Slack the RING is signalized and a unique one-time software key is generated so by either the web application or Slack someone can send a open-door request. This request is send from the RPi to the HAT that translates the signal to an necessary action on the door entry system terminal to open the door.

So the DoorPI isn't a door entry system, it just connects to it.
