In this application you are able to add a list of stylists working at the salon, and for each stylist, add clients who see that stylist. The stylists have specific specialties, so each client can only see (belong to) a single stylist. As the salon owner you can:
- See a list of all stylists.
- Select a stylist, see their details, and see a list of all clients that belong to that stylist.
- Add new stylists to the system when they are hired.
- Add new clients to a specific stylist.
- Clone this repo.
- Open your terminal (e.g., Terminal or GitBash) and navigate to this project's root directory called "HairSalon.Solutions"
- Add the following dependencies.
- dotnet add package Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore -v 6.0.0
- dotnet add package Pomelo.EntityFrameworkCore.MySql -v 6.0.0
- Add a .gitignore file to root directory.
- add obj, bin, and appsettings.json to .gitignore file.
- Within the production directory "HairSalon", create a new file called appsettings.json.
- Within appsettings.json, put in the following code, replacing the database, uid and pwd values with your own database name, username and password for MySQL:
{
"ConnectionStrings": {
"DefaultConnection": "Server=localhost;Port=3306;database=[YOUR-DB-NAME];uid=[YOUR-USER-HERE];pwd=[YOUR-PASSWORD-HERE];"
}
}
- Open MySQL and In the Navigator > Administration window, select Data Import/Restore.
- In Import Options select Import from Self-Contained File.
- Navigate to the cloned repo.
- Choose the suzanne_schuber_dump.sql file and click open.
- Select Dump Structure Only and then navigate to the tab called Import Progress and click Start Import at the bottom right corner of the window.
- After you are finished with the above steps, reopen the Navigator > Schemas tab. Right click and select Refresh All.
- Within the production directory "HairSalon", run dotnet watch run in the command line to start the project in development mode with a watcher.
