Per #2, we're going to focus on null-results and replications. Not sure where else to toss this info, so feel free to reorganize.
This is completely open to discussion. I've just taken a pass on it.
- Referencing of articles already published elsewhere along with metadata (authors, institution, tags, etc)
- Citation parsing and dependency tracking based on citations
- Article hosting
- Plain-text and tag-based searching
- Recognition and tracking of replication studies - Replication studies will be identified by tags determined by the authors
- Categorization of articles, i.e. medical, physics, etc
- Publishing guidelines appropriate for each category
- Articles and authors are tied to institutions throughout time, such that if an author publishes one article at institution A and another at institution B, both the article and author are correctly tied to the institution at the time of the articles
- Peer reviewing system
- Article analytics
- News feed system
- API and documentation to allow third-party scraping of data
