X509 swap + dependency upgrades

Description

Extending the #142 pull (or #143) by using the x509-swap branch as base for more dependency upgrades , also regarding node-forge security issue #141.

Testing

• This change adds test coverage for new/changed/fixed functionality
• This upgrades mocha/chai tests to fit upgraded dependency api structure(mostly for chai and express)
