1. Create new launchtemplateversion.
2. Create new launchtemplateversion based on given sourceversion
3. Delete launchtemplateversion

I'm waiting for a aws-controllers-k8s member to verify that this patch is reasonable to test. If it is, they should reply with /ok-to-test on its own line. Until that is done, I will not automatically test new commits in this PR, but the usual testing commands by org members will still work. Regular contributors should join the org to skip this step.

Once the patch is verified, the new status will be reflected by the ok-to-test label.

Hi everyone. This is a rather critical feature of ACK imo as it's a showstopper for customizing managed EKS nodes. Any chance we could revisit this PR?

I will also add that the Services Page in the ACK docs indicates that the ec2-controller is GA but lacking the ability to create and maintain a fundamental feature like LaunchTemplates seems like a significant enough gap in it's functionality to consider it GA. This might be worth a little bit more attention.
