… tests, and I suspect the BlogObserver is not working either. There may be some differences between how Rails 2 and Rails 3 observers work.

Here's a bug fix for the exception caused when you try to unpack this gem into the vendor directory with:
rake gems:unpack:dependencies
This is a bug that appears to be in almost all of the browsermedia authored modules:
