Search needs a filter option, not AI..

The current search function feels more like a category browser than a true search tool.
It’s cluttered with noise, duplicate posts, and irrelevant content, making it difficult to find what you’re looking for.

Someone already requested better search functionality back in 2019, but instead, we got AI search - which doesn’t address the actual problem. It doesn’t link to community posts, only random external sources.

So, this raises the question:
What’s the point of this new “solution”, if it doesn’t help posters reach more readers, or users search for community content?
Why introduce it at all? What’s the angle here?

A good search system should offer:

• Date: To find the latest posts or filter posts by a specific timeframe (last month, week, or day).
• Views: To highlight popular posts.
• Likes: To surface high-quality content.
• Comments: To locate posts with the most community engagement.

Even better, it should allow multiple filters, so users can, for instance, find the most popular posts from the last week.

This is what would improve the search experience and engagement.

I agree that our post search can be better, but unfortunately, it's not a priority currently.
We have other things on our plate that we try to move forward.
