Version 2.0.0
This is the second major release with many changes. If you liked Version 1 better you can download the .vsix
here.
Migration
- Migrated the project to TypeScript.
New Features
- Reddit Viewer Widget: Added a new tree view tab with customizable options. This integrates reddit more into vscode and is for people who don‘t want to open a webview/new panel just to see the latest articles in a subreddit.
- Global search: Search for subreddits and articles.
- Markdown: Enabled md in Comments and article selftext.
Enhancements
- Improved styling: Syntax highlighting customizable and for dark, light and hc themes. Font size and family from vscode settings.
- Improved layout: Changed from JavaScript to TypeScript. Looks a bit more code-ish. Improved visibility of information and media. Correct indenting.
- Configuration: Added more configuration options.
- Errors: The best error handling we ever had.
Bugs
- Fixed crashes when opening media. (Well the option to open media just got removed)
- General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.
Documentation

typedoc
documentation is now available at ekarbe.github.io
