also, I think this should be implemented in alpha 2
Actually sorry I though this was about the kubelet changes, I agree the kubectl changes can come in later (though maybe alpha 2 would be best)

is camel case typical for http endpoints like this? it seems a bit odd to me but I'm not familiar with convention

Yes, it is the typical camel case. I am referring to the portForward endpoint.
