Q: Are there any restrictions for using openDS skins or the source code?

A: Not many. You are not allowed to use openDS skins with games, you do not own. Buy them first. Anything else is covered by the CC-BY-4.0 license. You can use the source however you want, but you must give credit, by naming the original author somewhere. More information here.

Q: How do I install the openDS skin in my card / OS?

A: Here are the download links. Choose the right one, unpack the downloaded file and have a look into the included INSTALL.md file. You'll find detailed information there.

Q: I don't like the default checker background image. What can I do?

A: All sources are included. Open up the right SVG file with Inkscape, paste your new background image, move it to the right layer and export as PNG. Use GIMP afterwards to export the file to BMP.
