Where does this logo come from? Is there any copyright? That being said, this icon looks good and appropriate.
That's the official Radeon "R" monogram from their sales & marketing materials. |
Reading the terms and conditions, I don't think it can be used without being granted a specific permission from AMD. We are not promoting an AMD product (in the that a seller or distributor would do) and using the logo could create confusion for the user (is the software sponsored? is it related in any way to AMD?). If we were to incorporate the logo, I suggest we contact AMD in the first place. |
What about "Radeon Profile" in the font that AMD uses? With "Radeon" being on the first line and "Profile" being on the second line |
I was able to get a font that recreates the font that AMD uses for their Radeon line-up, but the page doesn't exist anymore outside of the Web Archive, but here's something that I recreated (could be polished up on, though), being a 256x256 png file. |
I like it. I still don't know if this would be OK with AMD's terms, but this is an improvment to the icon used right now. However, this may not fit well in the taskbar AppIndicator. I know its been a while, but maybe an "RP" would be interesting in the AppIndicator with the "P" slightly overlapping the "R", and the full logo in the application itself. What do you think? |
