These changes look good for people who want to continue using this repository. However, I personally have switched to using the alternate method suggested in that thread as it is significantly simpler. I have no idea what the “8311 Discord channel“ is so I don’t know where to point people for that solution other than that thread.

Yeah I actually switched to that method too but figured it couldn't hurt to have this repo updated if it avoids someone a headache when trying to upgrade. I checked this repo first and only after troubleshooting for a bit did I think to check the forums.

I actually put in a feature request (issue) for this to be manageable in the OPNsense config

opnsense/core#7874
