after spawning into the simulation the gripper spasms and does not work at all. this happens before and after being attached to a ur5 robot

Solved this issue by sudo apt install ros-noetic-roboticsgroup-upatras-gazebo-plugins 20.04, Noetic.
sudo apt install ros-noetic-roboticsgroup-upatras-gazebo-plugins
