This is a reference repository to document the folder structure required to add sound assets into Ryzom Core. It is maintained by the Ryzom Core open-source community.
Assets in this repository, including all further contributions, are made available under both CC-BY-SA 3.0 and FAL 1.3 licenses.
Original assets are copyright (C) 2001-2010 Winch Gate Property Limited under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 and FAL 1.3 licenses, with modifications (C) 2013-2021 Jan BOON [email protected] also licensed under the CC-BY-SA 3.0, and FAL 1.3 licenses.
Further contributions to this repository are copyright (C) their respective authors, unless rights have been transfered otherwise. Consult the repository commit history for details.
Q: If I use this repository, and create my own sound library, do I need to release my sound effects under a free license?
A: No. Assets are licensed individually, and your XML sound sheets and sound sample wave banks are not derivative works of any assets within this repository. It's your own choice whether you want to release your sound effects under a free license. Any modifications to the assets already contained in this repository must be released under the same license.
Q: Where are the sounds?
A: Sounds from the Ryzom game cannot be released under a free license, as they contain samples from commercial sample libraries.
