Reading API Key: The program reads your OpenAI API key from a file named .new_api.txt. This key is required to authenticate and use the OpenAI services.
Initializing OpenAI Client: We create an OpenAI client using the API key we read in the previous step. This client will help us communicate with the OpenAI services.
Setting up Streamlit UI: We set up the user interface using Streamlit. The UI includes a title ("Python Code Correction") and a text area where you can input your Python code.
User Input: You can type or paste your Python code into the text area provided.
Generating Correction: When you click the "Generate" button, the program sends your Python code to the OpenAI model (gpt-3.5-turbo) along with a message indicating that it's looking for help correcting Python code.
Receiving Response: After sending the request, the program waits for a response from the OpenAI model. If the model finds any issues in your code and suggests corrections, it sends back the corrected code.
Displaying Correction: Finally, if the model provides a response, the corrected Python code is displayed in a code block within the Streamlit interface.
In simple terms, the program lets you input your Python code, sends it to OpenAI to check for any mistakes, and then shows you the corrected version if there are any issues.
