This codebase uses the Astro web framework and is entirely static.
To host, you will need to install Node.JS and Yarn. On an Ubuntu system in 2023, I used the following terminal commands to install both tools:
$ curl -fsSL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup_20.x | sudo -E bash - &&\
$ sudo apt-get install -y nodejs
$ npm install --global yarn
Install dependencies and run the dev server:
$ cd simshadows-pages
$ yarn install
$ yarn dev
You can also compile the website to ./dist/
using:
$ yarn build
To compile the LaTeX documents, you will need:
- a
make
utility (such as GNU make), - a LaTeX distribution that can support all the packages required,
latexmk
, andpdf2svg
.
On a fresh Ubuntu system, I used this to install most of these tools:
$ sudo apt-get install texlive-full latexmk pdf2svg
