JabRef is an open-source reference manager. Our mission is to support you in every step of your research and to make you as productive as possible. Instead of fiddling around for hours with different citation styles, we enable you to spend time on the fun and creative parts of research.

We value open access to information and believe modern science can built on an open institutional structure. This is why we develop JabRef as free open-source software. JabRef is maintained by a multidisciplinary core team of PhD students, postdocs, and researchers in industry who work on JabRef in their freetime. Without the support of numerous volunteers, none of this is possible. If you use JabRef, a monthly contribution would mean a whole to make our work sustainable.

💡 We are an official non-profit organization "JabRef e.V." registered in Germany (e.V = registered voluntary association). Thus, usually your donations can be deducted from your tax. In Germany, for donations up to 300€, a simple proof of payment is enough, and you do not need any receipt from our side.
