🍀 Who are we ?

Trefle is a charitable non-profit that uses technology to provide the most complete botanical database on earth, for free. We sincerely believe that all botanical knowledge should be a common good, and not reserved for a small elite.

🔧 Our work

We started in 2017, by collecting, parsing and aggregating botanical data from multiple data source. We exchanged a lot with botanical gardens to get a copy of their own database, then started to manually correct our entries. Now, we're allowing anyone to contribute, and reached our 1 million indexed plants milestone !

But there is still a lot of work to do: our database is very incomplete, and new species are discovered each day.
