Overview

We are excited to introduce the beta version of PDF Tool Manager (ptm), a versatile command-line tool designed to streamline the management and manipulation of PDF files. This pre-release version includes essential functionalities such as merging, splitting, compressing, converting, and encrypting PDF documents. As this is a beta release, we invite users to test the tool and provide feedback to help us improve its stability and add more features.

Key Features

1. Merge PDFs

  • Functionality: Merge multiple PDF files into a single document.
  • Current Status: Fully functional with support for multiple input files.

2. Splitoe (Split Odd and Even Pages)

  • Functionality: Split a PDF file into separate files for odd and even pages, packaged into a zip file.
  • Current Status: Fully functional.

3. Compress PDFs

Known Issues

  • Limited File Format Support: The tool currently supports only a limited range of image formats for the images2pdf functionality.
  • Performance: Compression and conversion processes may be slower on large files or systems with limited resources.
  • User Interface: Since ptm is a command-line tool, there is a steeper learning curve for users unfamiliar with CLI.
