Controlling Video Quality 🎥

juniorxsound edited this page Feb 8, 2019 · 1 revision

The component defaults to adaptive video when the platform supports it (i.e DASH/HLS). With adaptive video you do not have to worry about manually selecting resolutions and the component will send the highest resolution that the client can play and switch it automatically ✨

If you want to manually specify which resolution to play you can select that when you create the component, for example

<a-entity vimeo="id: vimeo_video_id;
                 quality: 2160;

Will select 4K video and fallback the closest resolution if 4K is not available.

All quality options are:

  • auto (Default) - Play adaptive if possible or the highest available resolution
  • adaptive - Play the adaptive video
  • 2160 - 4K
  • 1440 - 2K
  • 1080 - Full HD
  • 720 - 720p (HD)
  • 540 - SD
  • 360 - SD
