The folder was deleted in 137fc2d by accident. This commit just brings it back as its necessary for the environment to build correctly.
Compilation speed has been improved by using all the available cores when compiling dependencies.

This PR add serveral improvements into the build environment:
With this PR the environment should be up and ready to work in as before. (Even better than before due to speedups!)
This PR advances on the #66 issue.
