You must make sure that the plugin is installed and that the IDE has a project open when you use it.

Restricted by, for example, WebStorm itself does not have a good built-in URL Scheme support; here, you must install the official JB plugin to achieve this. The experience is worse than the URL Scheme, but it can only be done for now.

After https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/19991-ide-remote-control

Make sure to open this

Make sure the IDE opens the project.

JB IDE support is just needed for a lot of people.
