0. Data Portal hazard exposure tool prototype documentation

This documentation describes the methods underlying a prototype climate-hazard data tool to be added to the Data Portal for Cities. A prototype dashboard is live here.

The Data Portal for Cities, a project of WRI and the Global Covenant of Mayors, provides city-level decision-makers with the data they need for effective climate action planning. The Data Portal currently provides the sector-disaggregated energy-consumption and waste-production data necessary for producing GHG inventories in preparation for climate change mitigation planning. Addition of the hazard exposure prototype, along with a hazard-assessment tool in parallel development, will allow the Data Portal also to support cities in climate resilience planning.

This documentation comprises two sections: one describing the resources and method underlying the data the prototype provides, and one describing the prototype dashboard.
