Releases: timelapseplus/VIEW
v1.6.2
v1.6.2 - 22 February 2017
Bugfix update -- corrects issues connecting to certain wifi access points that include dashes (-) or apostrophes (’). Apparently apostrophes and semi-quotes (') are not the same, and this caused issues in the validation regex. These issues were introduced in v1.6.x.
v1.6.1 - 16 February 2017
Bugfix update -- this update fixes the following bugs introduced in v1.6.0:
1) Clips not saving on VIEW for new units
Only affecting units that were factory reset while running v1.6.0 (including any beta), time-lapse clips may not be properly saved on the VIEW for XMP generation. This doesn't affect those already using their unit prior to v1.6.0, but it does affect many of the new shipments. IMPORTANT: if you only have the one demo clip on your device, do a factory reset (Settings->Factory Reset) after updating to v1.6.1. You don't have to do the reset if you already have lots of clips and it's working.
2) App keyframes not working in some cases
Because the app now stores the time-lapse programs on the VIEW (so your last used settings are there), there was a problem with the keyframe array being converted to an object, breaking the ability to add/remove keyframes if you already had a prior keyframe setup. This is fixed in the local app in v1.6.1, and already fixed at app.view.tl
v1.6.0 - 15 February 2017
New Features
- Multi-camera Support [1]
- Aperture Ramping option with limits
- Option to alternately step ISO and Shutter when ramping
- Safety auto power down on low battery
- Basic GPS support & geotagging [2]
- Information menu section added
Improvements
- Battery charge level calibrated
- UI Color enhancements (brighter blue)
- Internal AVR MCU Enabled, controlling knob & GPS
- Manual Aperture support
- Redesigned app interface, should work better with Android
- Registration info and instructions for app.view.tl
Bugfixes
- Power-off hang fix, plus further shutdown guarantees
- Wifi fixes - hopefully it will work with Apple routers now
- Waits for writes to fully finish before ejecting SD, preventing errors upon stopping
- App fetches clips by chunk to avoid out-of-memory crashes with large clips
[1] The new multi-camera feature currently synchronizes settings across all connected cameras. The primary camera used for tracking the ramping is chosen in the Time-lapse setup menu. To connect multiple cameras, a USB hub is needed.
[2] For VIEW devices with Internal GPS module. Support for obtaining location info from the app is planned for a future release.

v1.4.1
v1.4.1 - 29 December 2016
Bugfix from v1.4.0: corrects an issue with it locking up when sending logs via Settings->Send log for review
Notes from v1.4.0:
New in this release:
- External interval option via AUX2
- AUX2 trigger motion sync (2.5mm TRS cable from AUX2 to motion equipment -- no settings needed)
- Progress bar for time-lapse player
- Thumbnails for Time-lapse Clips menu
- Send log files from time-lapse clips for debugging and error reporting
- Create a new time-lapse based on settings from a previous clip
Bugfixes:
- Red light for power button lights sooner after power-on (u-boot update provides this)
- Fixes an issue where the UI locks up after responding to the SD card prompt while on the main menu
- Fixes and issue with minimum interval enforcement that could cause shutter ramping to fail on short intervals
- Fixes UI lockup in Timelapse Clips menu if no clips are present
- Improved speed of loading previous time-lapse clips
- New u-boot version prevents a potential issue that has affected some devices if the card detect on the micro-SD slot is unreliable and caused failure to boot
Note: this release includes a kernel update that will automatically reboot after installing, so be aware the install process will take longer than normal.
Don't forget that even if a new feature is not yet in the manual, there's always the on-device help by pushing the power button.
Camera Support Update, Ramping Limits
v1.3.3 - 16 December 2016
Bugfixes:
- Resolves reliability issues with Sony cameras in the recent camera support library update.
- Corrects irregular intervals during auto ramping
- Properly enforces max shutter speed for night intervals < 30s

Bugfixes, UI enhancements & additional camera support
v1.3.1 - 6 December 2016
This release focuses on bugfixes, error reporting & interface improvements.
New in this release:
- Added error notifications and pre-start validation for time-lapse
- Save to SD error checking and reporting
- Context menu (lower-right button) for time-lapse clips. This brings up options to save to SD card (if present) or delete the clip
- libgphoto2 updater functionality: after updating it should prompt to upgrade the camera support library.
This will add support for the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, and likely a few others in the same generation like the 80D and 1DxII. If the libgphoto2 update is interrupted, it will prompt to complete it next time wifi is connected.
Changes in this release:
- Disabled exposure menu for Sony since LV is not supported
- Enforce save to SD card for Sony
- RAW images are enforced when saving to SD card
- 'Destination' now defaults to 'SD Card' if an SD card is inserted during setup

Bugfixes in this release:
- Fixed issue with status screen not updating properly
- Time-lapse setup menu show/hide parameter bugfixes
- Menu system bugfixes
- Time-lapse Clips with a frame count of 'NaN' are now automatically fixed
- Updated gesture sensor tuning fixes issues on some units and improves performance
- Fixes an issue where a fixed exposure time-lapse tried to use an interval of zero seconds if the interval was set to variable in the auto ramping mode.
- Fixes an issue with the gesture sensor being blocked during time-lapse in v1.3.0
Fixes Issue with failure to start time-lapse
v1.2.3 - 23 November 2016
Fixes an issue that causes the time-lapse to fail to start in certain cases. A special thanks to Peter Moyer for his excellent debugging assistance in tracking down this bug. The issue of the time-lapse failing to start happened on devices that had never used the wifi app and recently upgraded the firmware.
Button backlight settings have been added in this release as well.
Gesture Sensor Tuned
v1.2.0 - 22 November 2016
The following items have been added or improved in v1.2.0:
- Tuned gesture sensor for final case (it works now!)
- Added 'UI Preferences' submenu to settings
- Charge Indicator setting moved to UI Preferences
- Added Settings->UI Preferences->Theme and a red theme option
- Improved gesture handing and added an option to skip 10 seconds (swipe right during playback)
Also, this version fixes a bug that cause power down to fail in v1.2.0
